Natural stone floors give you the option to change the type of finish (matte, satin, or high-gloss) so you can change the style at any time. Natural stone floors can be damaged due to traffic and improper maintenance and care, but the good news is that you can always restore them to look like new again. We restore all natural stone floor types, including Marble, Granite, Travertine, Limestone, Saltillo, Slate, and Flagstone, and we offer deep cleaning and grout repair on Ceramic and Porcelain floors.

Take a look at the following pictures and information to see what kind of damage you may have:

MARBLE FLOOR ETCH MARK  REMOVAL

Etch marks are acid burns that are caused by using the wrong cleaner, including bleach, vinegar, commonly used cleaners, and most detergents, including anything with high or low amounts of acid. Most natural stones, with the exception of granite and quartzite, contain calcium carbonate,  which is dissolved by the acid when it comes in contact with the top portion of the stone. The acid can damage the majority of stone floors like marble, limestone, travertine, slate, flagstone, and others, the only exception being granite.

MARBLE FLOOR STAIN REMOVAL

When floors are not sealed they can absorb liquids creating visible stains. The most frequent stains are organic (sauces and drinks), inorganic (dirt, dyes, paint, ink), oil (oil, butter), mold, and rust. These types of stains can stain all types of natural stone. We are able to identify each type of stain and apply the best treatment to remove the stains. In many cases, several applications of a stain remover product is necessary to remove the stain.

MARBLE FLOOR SCRATCH REMOVAL

Marble floor scratch

All types of natural stone floors can be scratched, the only difference between stone type is that some are harder than others. Granite, for example, is more scratch-resistant than marble because it is a harder stone making it a good choice for commercial floors.

Scratches can be caused by moving furniture without protection, bringing debris inside on shoes, pets with long nails, and more.

HOLE REPAIR ON TRAVERTINE FLOOR

Travertine floor hole

Some stone floors like travertine have naturally occurring holes, and some kinds may be filled in the factory which over time may come out. This is a problem that can be fixed, we know how to repair these holes and make them look like they were originally.

CRACKED TILE REPAIR ON TRAVERTINE FLOOR

Travertine tile crack

Cracking is common on floors due to bad floor installation or foundation problems in the house. In most cases, natural stone floor tiles can be repaired without the need to remove and replace it with a new tile.

 LOOSE TILE REPAIR

Loose tile

Floors may sometimes have 1 or 2 loose tiles due to a bad installation. We can fix this problem without removing or breaking the tile. We remove the grout from around the tile, and inject a special glue that will make the tile stable.

WORN & DULL AREAS ON MARBLE FLOOR

It's normal for floors to have more wear, or look dull in more high traffic areas compared to other areas of the floor. This can be fixed by honing and polishing the area to the existing finish.

CLEANING & RESEALING NATURAL STONE FLOORS

Travertine floor cleaning

We offer deep cleaning and sealing services for natural stone floors, porcelain or ceramic. Keep in mind that cleaning natural stone floors will not remove scratches and etch marks (acid burns), or fix dull areas on the finish of your floor due to traffic. We will evaluate your floor so we can give you an expected outcome of your floor based on the damage it has. If it needs resurfacing, we will let you know.

If your floors are in good shape, and its been around 2 years since you had any maintenance done, we recommend getting your floors deep cleaned and re-sealed to prevent future stains. We seal every stone we work on.

LIPPAGE REMOVAL ON MARBLE FLOOR

Lippage on marble floor

Lippage is the result of bad installation of the tiles. This can be fixed if you have natural stone floors. It requires more time than regular resurfacing due to the process. We grind the floor, removing a good amount of stone until a flat floor is achieved. This is followed by the resurfacing process that will remove the scratches left by the grinding process, then we polish the floor, and seal it.

FLOOR GROUT REPAIR

Grout repair

Some grout on floors starts cracking due to a bad installation, or structural movement of the home. A good way to restore it is by re-grouting it with a stronger grout type that will provide more crack-resistance. We repair broken grout lines by applying the most break-resistant product on the market. This product is strong and durable, it is highly resistant to stains, cracks, chemicals, adverse weather conditions, and climate changes.

Stains on grout lines are another common problem with time since most homeowners forget to clean them regularly and seal them on time. Grout lines absorb impurities, that with time, can create a permanent stain, and when you decide to clean them, you will notice that they look inconsistently clean. If this is the case, we have a product that we use that seals and colors the grout lines. You can choose a new or the existing color for your grout lines, and they will look like new.

If you're dealing with one of these problems, please contact us. It will be our pleasure to take a look, give you an evaluation, and restore your countertop for you.
